Lesson 11

Like we discussed in the previous lesson, who uses a tool is often more important than the tool itself. Who is using the tool of AI? In other words, who are you? Nothing is ever 100% guaranteed, but let’s imagine what kind of person would be good with the tool of AI. What would this person be like? What character traits would this person have?

First and foremost, this person would be focused. This person would have vision — being able to see a big picture view, as well as what is true and what is false. Other things that come to mind are adaptable, determined, disciplined, innovative, intelligent, logical, and judicious. There are undoubtedly others, but this is mainly to get you brainstorming.

You can also do the inverse, which is a powerful exercise. What kind of person would not be good, or bad, with AI? This person would be distracted, easily stressed, highly biased, highly emotional, lazy, and closed-minded. This is who we don’t want to be. It is beneficial to be aware of these attributes so we can spot them before they become a problem.

Figure out what kind of person would be the best at working with AI, then start becoming more like that person. Further, make sure you are aware of what will prevent you from getting the most out of AI, and delete those programs. The more skilled an artist is, the more the artist gets out of a paintbrush and canvas. The same goes for AI. The more skilled the person is, the more the person gets out of AI.
