Meditation for Innovation

Find a comfortable seat, or relax down on your back. Release everything that is not now. I invite you to close the eyes and connect with your breath. Let’s take some big deep breaths — in and out through the nose; low and slow from the belly. We are slowing the breath down as much as we can, and we are expanding the breath as much as possible.

Several Deep Breaths

Innovation is in the air. The answers you are looking for are available to you, however we often block the answers with our own biases and beliefs. I am not asking you to change your beliefs, and I know it takes time to clear cognitive biases, however for the next few minutes, let’s do an experiment. For just the next few minutes, let’s empty as much as possible. There is no need to fear anything being lost forever. I promise it will still be there after this meditation. However, for just the next few minutes, let go of everything.

Several Deep Breaths

Let go of your job title. Let go of your political preferences. Let go of all your likes and dislikes. Let go of how you think things should be. Let go of absolutely everything — including your identity. Be humble and open. Know that the answers you are looking for are available. Innovation is in the air. Invite it in.

Too often, we get in our own way in life. Too often, our biases and beliefs blind us to the truth, as well as to the answers we are looking for. Embrace the crystal mind of yoga. Let go of attachments and empty as much as possible. Stay humble and stay open. Invite innovation in. Take a few more deep breaths, then proceed whenever you are ready.
